The chat feature is now available in the WpStream plugin, beginning with version 3.3 To use, include the following shortcode in your pages/articles [replace “1234” with your own channel id]
Notes: -the chat is tied to a free or PPV live channel -chat only functions while the channel is active -can also include it via Bakery or Elementor -you may use this thread for reporting issues or asking for features
Hi there, I just tried adding the chat shortcode with my channel ID to my homepage and this appeared… ‘Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.’ What do I do in this case? Thanks Alex
I tried adding the shortcode to the product and the page of live stream whilst testing my live channel and both times this did not pop up with any chat… wanting to upgrade but only when I know this option is working! Thank you
1) I’m trying to get the chat plug in to work. It seems like it only works if you are “logged in” – in my case – logged in to WordPress, I believe – when I paste the URL of my live event to a different browser – I cannot use the chat function. Can the chat function be made so people don’t need to be “logged in” to use it?
2) Also – I’m pasting the chat code: [wpstream_chat id=”1234″] onto the post where I am streaming my live video from – and the chat ends up on the top of the page, and I’d like the chat to be below the video window.
