To be clear, live stream encryption is turned off by default and can be enabled from the channel settings. It helps protect your live streams from being copied or shared.
We decided to come up with a hotfix version that will address the conflict.
There’s a bit of a catch/twist to this so please read carefully:
* Websites using the ‘hotfix’ version will be able to use WpStream and PeepSo together
* Encrypted live streams will NOT function on websites using the ‘hotfix’ version
The next official plugin release, expected in August, will fully deal with the conflict and also support encrypted streams.July 12, 2021 at 8:56 am in reply to: Allowing Users to upload their videos from the the frontend #132637
Thanks for posting,
We do not have this option at the time. Will check with engineering to see if this is planned for a future release. Please expect a follow up.
Plugin version 3.12.3 addresses some chat issues/topics as following:
“This username is already taken” – has been addressed by registering duplicate users with a nickname variation (i.e. mary-5789)
“This username is already taken” – may commonly be aggravated by the use of cache plugins – please disable these on pages using the chat
Duplicate system messages – have been addressed
“Please login if you want to use the chat” – chatting is only supported for registered users (no guests)
“We are not live at this moment” – chat only functions along a video player of the same live channel and when the respective channel is active (i.e. an event is started and broadcasting live)
There is a “connect” button that does not work – chat is possible to malfunction or not work at all in the presence of cache plugins – please disable these on pages using the chat
The issue has resurfaced and platform has once again been functioning inconsistently for about 30 minutes, starting 8:09 GMT
We are diagnosing and will post updates in here.
A permanent solution has been gradually deployed in production over the last few days and it is now complete.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and appreciate your patience while we worked to resolve this.March 16, 2021 at 2:55 pm in reply to: “Static RTMP” feature – beta – available upon request #116297
Static RTMP (beta) is once again fully functional, it has totaled spotty downtimes of no more than 2 hours, starting yesterday.
Thank you for your understanding.March 15, 2021 at 6:23 pm in reply to: “Static RTMP” feature – beta – available upon request #116181
The feature may be unavailable or malfunctioning over the next couple of days due to platform changes related to this topic.
Please meanwhile use ‘ordinary’ rtmp addresses retrieved from the WordPress backend.
Will notify the thread when this feature is once again dependable.
WpStream is intended for streaming to WordPress websites.
There is a way you can have its streams show up on non-WP sites, however it involves at least one beta feature so we can’t make any guarantees it’ll work in your context or provide any support for it.
You’ll have to set up a ‘covert’ WP site and use it to broadcast as usual. Then to have the feed show up on your main site apply the procedure here
Hope it works for you 😉
1. the live delay is industry standard, see this for lower latency
2. please provide a screenshot of the ‘green overlay’ so as to understand what it’s about; assuming it’s something like this? how often does it happen for you?
3. to record your live streams, check the “Record Live Stream” in your channel settings
Low latency DEFINITELY does NOT reduce the video quality. What you send is what you get. Try adjusting the bitrate, resolution and other settings for crisper picture.
Player shortcodes, both regular and low_latency do not need a closing ‘tag’ they are fine as they are presented in the docs.
Especially if this used to work differently (i.e. as expected), you may want to look up a plugin/theme conflict as explained here
Please see if upgrading to 220.127.116.11 takes care of the issue, we just uncovered an unfortunate plugin interaction and sorted it out in this revision.September 4, 2020 at 1:59 pm in reply to: No streaming available – black/blank screen – plugin up to date #88410
Upon investigating your site, turns out the latest plugin release triggered a conflict with another add-on you are using, possibly the subscription plugin in use.
We managed to find a workaround and hot-fixed your website. Also released a new plugin version that encompasses the workaround.
